What is Safe Kids Pierce County?
Safe Kids Pierce County is a local coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to the prevention of accidental childhood injury and death by increasing of awareness in the community, creating safe environments, and developing and implementing educational programs.
We are able to keep our children safe through:
Child Passenger Safety Programs
Helmet Programs
Water Safety Programs
Pedestrian Safety Programs
Who can be involved in Safe Kids Pierce County?
Anyone who is interested in keeping children safe! We have a wide variety of individuals on our coalition, including fire and police department personnel, hospital employees, community members, school district employees, teachers, etc.
Coalition meetings are held every other month on the fourth Wednesday at 10am at the University Place Fire Department, unless otherwise noted.

What types of things does Safe Kids Pierce County provide? Trainings and information about various safety measures for children are available at every meeting and via email throughout the year. The focus areas for Safe Kids Pierce County are water safety, bicycle/wheeled sports safety, pedestrian safety, child passenger safety, and fire safety, just to name a few.
How can I get involved?
Join us for our next meeting and mark your calendar for the 2009 Resource Share! The Resource Share is our best attended meeting and allows for networking and sharing of information among safety advocates. You can also help at events and work with us to build and expand our current programs.
